Mycological analysis of non-dermatological samples

Which test do we use?

Direct microscopic analysis and culture followed by macroscopic and microscopic identification of the relevant moulds and yeasts. Supplemented by biochemical tests (yeasts) if necessary.

Sampling instructions

Fresh urine, respiratory samples, genital samples, biopsies, misc. in a sterile recipient.

Storage conditions

The samples should be stored at 4°C immediately after collection and arrive at the laboratory before 4:00pm on the same day. Wipers should be kept in transportation medium.

Delivery time of the result

Direct analysis: the day after arrival at the laboratory
Culture and identification: cultures are checked up to 3 weeks after grafting the sample before reporting a negative status.
