Dengue virus antigen

Which test do we use?

Detection of the dengue virus NS1-antigen (immunochromatography)

Sampling instructions

For 1 or 2 serological analyses: at least 1 ml serum
For 3 to 5 serological analyses: at least 2 ml serum

Storage conditions

The serum can be sent at room temperature, but the duration of transportation must be reduced as much as possible (avoid weekends or holidays).

Important advice

The detection of the NS1-antigen is only performed when there is a clinical suspicion of recent infection (until 7 days after onset of disease).

PCR is always perfomed in parallel with the NS1-antigen detection.

The detection of NS1-antigen (and PCR) is complementary to antigbody detection.

Please indicate country of origin , date of onset of symptoms and sampling date on the application form.
