Detection of the dengue virus NS1-antigen (immunochromatography)
For 1 or 2 serological analyses: at least 1 ml serum
For 3 to 5 serological analyses: at least 2 ml serum
The serum can be sent at room temperature, but the duration of transportation must be reduced as much as possible (avoid weekends or holidays).
The detection of the NS1-antigen is only performed when there is a clinical suspicion of recent infection (until 8 days after onset of disease).
PCR is always perfomed in parallel with the NS1-antigen detection.
The detection of NS1-antigen (and PCR) is complementary to antigbody detection.
Please indicate country of origin , date of onset of symptoms and sampling date on the application form.
Depends on the total number of requested analyses. See ‘How frequently do we perform this analysis’.
