Which test do we use?

Ziehl-Neelsen staining and light microscopy.

Sampling instructions

Possible on sputum, bronchial lavage, bronchial aspirate, biopsy, purulence, gastric fluid, urine, sperm, cerebrospinal fluid, aspirates.

Storage conditions

The samples must be stored in the refrigerator at 2-8°C.
The samples can be sent at room temperature.

 

Samples can be stored and shipped without additives, or in the presence of sterile physiological water.

Important advice

If you also request a culture, the samples should not be older than 7 days, unless a transportation medium (e.g.. cetylpyridiniumchloride for sputum) was added, allowing storage at room temperature for up to 1 month.
